SAB 2012 Stamp Night Projects

We all love getting free stuff right? That is why we love Sale-a-Bration! In these projects I used many of the free things we can earn, the stamps, DSP, ribbon, and brads!

These are the projects we made this month, my guests get to choose to make 5 of the same card or one card and a scrapbook layout. We are having the same class with different projects next week, anyone is welcome so let me know if you would like to come.

Love the little bird stamp, this stamp set also comes with a key, a crown, and a butterfly. (to see the images, click on the catalog on the right) This flower punch was from the Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch, it is hard to see stamped images when using this punch, so we stamped it after punching.

Isn't this ribbon so fun, it comes in Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral. I learned at leadership that we can curl this ribbon with some scissors just like curling ribbon! I haven't tried it yet, but plan to.

Swaps

My friends I went to leadership with, all decided to swap projects. We all made 10 3D projects and came home with one of our own, and one from each of them. I loved all of them! Today I will show you my swap. Can you tell what it is yet?

First off I decorated these tins with a slew of stuff from the new mini catalog... new stamps, punches, dies, DSP, and twine.

Stamped on some tissue paper...

and made a fun bracelet for them. I have made a bunch of these bracelets for others and now I finally have one for myself! I used Stampin' Up!'s sticky pages, black and white Timeless Portrait fabric, and crochet trim ribbon.

San Antonio Make and Takes

Today I am sharing with you my favorite make n takes from Leadership and Regionals this year. At Leadership, they gave us tons of make n takes, so I will just share a couple of my favorites today. First off is this box...

The Baja Breeze box is cut from a big shot die, and the white inside box was just scored with the simply scored and assembled together.

The flowers are from the Blossom Builders kit on page 18 of the mini catalog. They are printed and die cut on textured paper. Seriously they are awesome and look so much better in person than in the catalog!

This next card is one of my favorites, It comes in a set of 3 that fits into a mason jar. Mom, can I steal another jar from you so I can decorate it?

The next 2 cards were the make and takes from the San Antonio Regionals on Saturday. I love them both!

So I have already been asked where the polka dots come from... well they are from the kite stamp!

You can see my scrap paper here, the leaf was punched out with a circle punch on each side.

I haven't put this card together yet... I still need to make a template, but it is pretty awesome. When you spin the circle on the right, the kites change. This is what the card looks like without the top.

Doesn't it look like fun? I feel so spoiled when someone else cuts my cardstock and designes super cute projects for me to make!

Leadership Freebies

I am back to share more fun stuff from Leadership! I believe that this is all the stuff I came home with, but I might have missed something... Free stuff is awesome! First off How adorable is that bag? I LOVE It tons. (sorry I don't have a close up picture...) It is made from a new line of fabric that will be available I believe in the next catalog. I love that they gave us markers... the book (in the top middle of the picture) was filled with places to take notes and doodles for us to color. I only colored a little bit... I took tons of notes but it was still fun! They gave everyone in attendance 4 prizes and I even won an additional prize at regionals on Sat (the bordering on romance stamp set from the mini). Yippee!

This awesome portfolio was given to us at make and takes, I LOVE that it matches the bag and that Shelli signed each one for us! This tag was made with My Digital Studio! I also love the little bauble of bling, such an awesome touch.

This awesome box with the homemade chocolate inside was also given to us at make n takes. Awesome!

I also was lucky to be a make and take helper this year, YEA! We were given this bag with prizes inside (not including the stuff they mailed to us :) if you get the chance to sign up to be a helper, don't hesitate. Free stuff is awesome! I also love this MDS tag!

You all probably wish you knew what was under these pearls right? Well I don't think I can tell you :) it is a stamp set that isn't available yet! Being a demonstrator is awesome I love getting things early!

Leadership 2012

Hello, Hello, is anyone out there? I know a couple of you still check my blog (thanks mom :) Well I think I am ready to start posting again, so if you like what you see, and would like to see more please comment!

I just returned from another awesome Leadership Conference with Stampin' Up! I loved spending 5 days in sunny San Antonio, it sure was hard to come home to snow! We had great classes, make-n-takes, swaps with our awesome group, yummy lunches, tons of displays of project ideas, fun dinners on the riverwalk, presentations, and fun evenings with our group!

Bookmarks

So almost all the supplies are retired... but I thought I would show it anyway. My friend asked me to make a bunch of bookmarks for the BYU spirit squad. She chose the stamps and greeting... I think it might have something to do with the theme this year. My friend said they loved them... hope she is right! My almost 8 year old was a big help and did all the adhesive work!

To create the fan background, I used the new texture plate. It is more subtle than embossing folders and won't smash as easily. I also love bookmarks with a ribbon pull... although my favorite bookmarks are fabric ones. Maybe someday I will make some Stampin' Up style with fabric!

Timeless Flower

Fabric time! I made this cute fabric flower for my niece. I love decorating the gift bags with hair flowers... I love seeing their reaction when they realize that they can wear it! For this flower I used the new Timeless Portrait fabric (the 2 black and white prints) and paired it with some plain white and black fabric. I attached all the layers with a vintage brad. I don't remember exactly how many layers this flower had... it was atleast 8 but probably a few more. I cut the layers of fabric out with the Fun Flowers Big Shot die.

A few people have asked me when my next fabric flowers class is... would you like to come if I have a class? I am thinking that this flower is one we should make!

Doily Pages

We made these pages at Stamp Club in July. If you would love to come make scrapbook pages or cards with us let me know! We used a fabric scrap to tie around the pennant, and the awesome clear alphabet to do the title... I just wish I had 2 letter P's :)

Don't you love that orange Doily? The detail is fabulous, it comes with the Designer Series Paper! The other 2 doilies are from the pennants big shot die!

We stamped this middle banner with the doily stamps and the other 2 banners were from the DSP. To make the banner, we just punched out the bottom with the larger square punch! Easy peasy. You can also see here the background doily stamp. love it!

It's Class time!

Saturday Sept 17th we are having a 4 for you 4 for me class! We will make 8 cards, 4 for you to keep and 4 for you to give away. (you can use any combination of these images)

This is the card holder we will be decorating (holds 4 cards). This is a perfect gift for anyone!

More Summer Mini projects. I guess summer really is over if the summer mini is retiring. I am still not ready for Fall! This card is made with mostly the flirtatious suite in the catalog, but the greeting is from the Swirls & Curls hostess stamp set. I love the little bird :)

Teacher Gift

Don't you love this owl? This was the teacher gift we gave at the end of school this year. I forgot to take a picture of the outside, but here is the inside of the clear mount case we decorated. I wanted this to be something useful, hopefully she liked it!

I actually wrote her a thank you note on the top page of this notepad, and my son made a card for her and wrote her a note. I told him that it might be a good idea to thank her for specific things and he said "I already took care of it mom" and showed me that he wrote " thanks for all the fun stuff we did" :) I love 7 year olds!

Cheerful Treat

I have been having lots of fun playing with the Cheerful Treat DSP and the new colors! I almost didn't even use any stamps... just the greeting :) The colors on this card are Lucky Limeade, Concord Crush, and Melon Mambo.

Check out the Designer Printed Brad - they are new this year in the in-colors. I definitely love the polka dot theme on this card!

School time

School is starting on Monday, which brings lots of change for us. This year I will have 2 kids going to school, (2nd grade and Kindergarten). They will be going to a brand spanking new school, and will be on a traditional schedule for the first time! I am definitely NOT ready for this yet! I LOVE LOVE LOVE summer. Definitely the best time of year in my mind. I still can't believe it is ending... I made this card to help me get excited for school time. I used the image from the Fruit & Flowers stamp set. The paper is from the Cheerful Treat DSP - it is the one that ONLY hostesses can get. I actually love it, especially this image.

School here we come!

Thank you Books

We recently had a few big changes in Primary and we had to thank the music leader and pianist for all they did! So I made them a book for all the kids to sign, I wish I would have thought to sign it! Each class got their own full page to sign and draw pictures. I think they turned out so cute!

This paper is an actual sheet of music! (yes I am not afraid to cut up music). My mom teaches piano lessons and she gives me all the sheet music that she doesn't like! Awesome huh?! oh and I just realized that the thank you stamp is retired... I love it though.

My color combo was Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and the new Pool Party.

This stamp set is so fun. Each image coordinates with the buttons we sell. The images look cute without a button, the button just makes it pop!

I am loving the scallop polka dot ribbon! they put 2 of my favorite things together!

ok so I have to admit... I LOVE rainbows! so this card makes me happy. I stole the idea to have the snail trail the kindness stamp. I love the new site for demonstrators! they have tons of fun ideas.

Ok so my friend Melanie totally opened my eyes. I probably would have never thought of this... a sick green pig! love it. (thanks Melanie for letting me case this card!)

Anniversary party cards

You all can't wait to see the projects we made at the party right? Well here they are! Everyone who came to my house made these cards for free to celebrate my 7 years with Stampin' Up! Each card used one of the new in colors and every card had a new stamp set!

For this first card we used the Up, Up & Away stamp set and new Pool Party color! This card is a 4x4 card. Did you know that you can get 4 4x4 cards out of one 12x12 sheet? Try it sometime :)

I love those hot air balloons. I have some more balloon cards/pages to show you soon! This next card is made with the new Doily background stamp and the new Calypso Coral ink.

This Last card uses the Pennant Parade stamp set and the Lucky Limeade color. I LOVE that the pennant stamps match the new pennant punch!

Well this event was definitely a success! Keep a look out for my Anniversary party next year! (probably in July - I don't know the exact date I signed up but know it is at the end of July... I should call and find out :) Thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate! Enjoy all your free stuff!

I have been a Demonstrator for 7 years now, WOW. I still can't believe it was that long ago, it seems like it was yesterday that I was picking out the stamps and ink pads that I got in my starter kit.

So to celebrate, I am throwing myself a party and you are all invited! It will be on Friday the 12th at my home, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. (plan to stay for an hour or so)

We will:
*make 3 cards for FREE!
*sign up for fall classes
*shop my exclusive Stampin' Up! yard sale

At the yard sale I will have most of my retired stamps, paper, ink, punches, kits, big shot dies, stamped items, retired catalogs and anything else I can find! You will be able to purchase these items with "Kasia's kash" (everyone who attends will get some kash, and you will be able to earn some more kash!) you will be able to purchase with real money too if you like.

Anyone is invited (you will want to bring a friend to earn more kash).

Gift Bags

I am LOVING the new pennant die for the big shot, and the punch too of course. I used the smallest pennant on the die for this bag. and the medium sized pennant for this baby one. Here is a close up of the hair clip I put on the bag... I love this flirtatious fabric! It was pretty simple to decorate these bags, just paper and dimensionals! So Fun. Next time I want to try it with the punch, think of how many pennants we could add!

Downline meeting projects

I had a ton of fun at my group meeting last night and I wanted to share some of the projects we made. On this card we used the new Doily background stamp. I love the detail on this stamp! We also used the new scallop polka dot ribbon... we just hid the polka dots and used the plain side. This next card might be the card we make at stamp club next month... but I haven't decided yet. I have to admit that I bought this Patterned Party stamp set for the banner stamp only, I just had to have the birthday banner!

We made this oval with the new embossing folder and I was so excited to see that the oval die cuts an oval to fit it perfectly!

The third project I designed was this box.

This is the new blossom box Big Shot die. It takes a bit of time folding the score lines but is pretty simple if you follow the directions. Here is a side view of the box to show the depth.

We attached the scallop circle to the box with the new mini clothespin. I love them!

FYI: when you make this box you can close it like this...

But we pushed in the top so the scallop circle could lay flat and attached the clothespin on one of the ruffles. I didn't take a picture of the box open but you can just open the top if you like or open it so it lays flat. So do you want to join us next time?

Doilies galore!

We had stamp club this week and all the projects we used were made with the Flirtatious suite (page 126 -127 of the new catalog). I had a fun time creating samples and I had a wow moment! I stamped this doily stamp on old olive cardstock and it looked so much like a tree that I created this card around it! I free handed the trunk and tied on some fabric for the ribbon. I have been using this owl punch a lot lately. I love using these googlie eyes.

These next two cards I cased from the other demonstrators. I changed them up a bit but they are pretty similar, I would post a link but they are on a website for demonstrators only.

This card was cased from Robin Merriman. I LOVE this new color, it is called Pool Party! Robin's card didn't have the doily, but she took the picture on an orange dish and I loved the color combo.

This card was cased from Tessa Wise. It is a 3x3 card and it also has a new color called Island Indigo! I just love the embossed doily, it really pops.

Spring Decor - Homemade Stencils

Now that spring is officially over... I figured I better post this! This spring my piano was in need of decorations!

I bought a white canvas at the craft store and made some stencils out of scratch cardstock with the fabulous flower folds die and then painted on some paint with a craft sponge!

Its not perfect, but that just adds character. Let it sit until it is dry and embellish to your hearts content!

The center of this flower is made using the table settings die that is retiring :( I'm so sad to see that one go!

oh my goodness, I am SO EXCITED about this. I have wanted a triangle punch for SO long so I could make cards like this! remember the card I made that looks like this but with the fabric? well those took me forever to make, this card seriously took like 2 minutes - and I love it! So pull out your wish list and put this punch down, it will be available in 2 weeks! I made this card for my 12 year old friend Malachi. He wrote a book and got it published! awesome huh? I punched the pennants out of the retiring Play Date DSP and used my Old Olive marker to only ink the words on the Baby Steps stamp that I will miss seeing in the catalog :(

Father's Day Cards

A big shout out to my friend Mandy, she designed this card! I just changed it a bit to fit my colors/accessories! Since my club ladies were making multiple cards and I gave them another choice...

I love this golf stamp, and so did my friends! It is retiring this month, so get it while you can.

Here are the pages we made, sorry for the picture, I didn't realize how funny the picture looked until now with the slanting lines in the background... its like an optical illusion!

It was so fun stamping the calendar stamp onto the background. It is the perfect masculine touch! I also had fun with the chevron image - cut from the tasteful trim die.

We used a new stamp set and a few retiring punches and stamps. I am excited to find some pictures for these pages.

Sweet Stitches

Can I just say that I Love this fabric! I made this skirt for my sweetie in February, and this week I finally decorated a shirt to match! If you look closely, you can see the circle image from a new Big Shot die! It will be available next month in the new catalog! I love being able to order things from the new catalog early!

My daughter is almost 2 but she is super tall. I just made this pattern up, so if you want to make it, I will share some tips.

I ordered 2 packs of fabric and used 1 1/2 packs of the stitches fabric. I just sewed them together to create a tube. Make sure you sew in the ties at the same time - I wanted them to go all the way around her, so I attached both of them in the same place.

I folded the top 4 inches down on the top to create the ruffle on the top and the space for the elastic. I stitched twice across like shown... the space between 2 and 3 1/2 inches is for the elastic.

3x3 Cards & Holder

For Mothers Day this year I added a few mini cards to their gift. I first saw this cute card holder from my friend Jill. It works best with flat cards... but I couldn't resist adding some buttons and dimensionals, that is why it kind of bends when it is closed :)

Inside it holds 6 cards and envelopes!

Owl Journal

I recently attended my upline's group meeting. I was so excited to have 5 ladies in my downline there with me, so I decided to make them a little gift. I found these notepads for a dollar at the store and was thrilled that they matched the SU colors! I guess the In colors are still in style, since I used Concord Crush and Poppy Parade along with Old Olive and Baja Breeze.
They are pretty busy, but they look better in person. It was fun to make these... I hope they loved them!

Music Thank-You Notes

Not very often will my dad call and place an order for cards! He needed some thank you notes and asked for a music theme. I actually Love the way these turned out and the embossing made just the right touch.

Fabric pennant card

Did you know that Stampin' Up! sells adhesive sheets that are perfect for adding fabric to your projects? It isn't washable but works great on cards. That is what I used to adhere the fabric onto this card before sewing.

I made this card a while ago, sorry some of it is retired now (the DSP in the center pennant and the greeting) but the fabric is still available to order! I used some cardstock that Is definitely looked over, it is the Naturals White cardstock, it comes with all these awesome flecks on it!I got my inspiration from this card... It is on display at the Riverton SU office. Since I live pretty close, I have had quite a few opportunities to visit and if I have time, I always stop and check out the samples! This card also uses the Stampin' Up! fabric! Love it!

Butterfly Wands

I recently had a couple of young girls at my home and I wanted to make something cute with them. I had some of these wood skewers out from another project and thought a magic wand would be fun! I let the girls choose their favorite felt from my stash and help me cut out the butterflies with my big shot. I let them help me pick out some coordinating ribbon and voila! Super simple. I love being the cool neighbor :)

I was so excited that Stampin' Up! came out with this stamp set. (It is in the new Summer Mini Catalog) I of course love the images, but on top of that, Stampin' Up! is donating $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each set that is purchased! I loved the butterflies that were shown in the Stampin Success Magazine with the pearl and rock and roll technique, so I copied them!

If you haven't tried the triple layer punches, you must! They are so fun! We used the new Doily triple layer punch to make these flowers, I just scrunched them up in my hand for a little more dimension.

Wedding Shower Decor

I recently helped with my cousin's wedding shower. I made a few of the decorations, all sticking to her colors. I wanted to decorate this jar and fill it with candy, so I made this tag with the 2 tags die and the big shot, found some black jellybeans at the store and filled it up. It was great because the candy matched the colors - which is all that matters right? I hope so cause hardly anyone ate them but me... so I took home the leftovers, but let me tell you, the jellybeans do wierd things to your system, seriously it would make a great st patricks day prank. LOL! ok sorry if that was too much info... Here is a close up of the tag, everything is from Stampin' Up! except the flowers.

The best part, is that my cousin took the tag and ribbon to decorate a picture frame!
Another decor item I made were these medallions that I hung from the light above the table. There was a black one too, but it wasn't in the picture...

ok it is official, I think this cupcake stamp set/ punch is my favorite. (this month atleast) It is crazy that it is only available for a few more days! I am loving pennants and banners, I hope you aren't tired of them, because I still have more to share!

When I was making this card, one thing I found useful was to stick the half circles onto the glue dots in the order that I would need them. This was the only way I adhered the banner to the card, It seems to hold it just fine!

Another tip: I did not punch a whole circle and then cut it in half, I just punched out half of the circle and the straight edge was from the edge of the paper. does that make sense?

I Love all the different stamps in the Sew Suite stamp set, it was so fun to put them all together on one project.

The Designer Series paper that coordinates with these stamps is Awesome! one sheet of paper is completely covered with these button sheets! I cut them all out and let my club ladies pick which one to put on their pages! They also got to pick their favorite button as well.

Wedding Shower Invitations

The plain white space is where all the info will go...I made both of these and let her pick, but I don't know which one she wants yet :) She requested flowers for the accent and I made them in her wedding colors and I am loving the Black and Vanilla!

Bliss Notebook

Wow 2 posts in one day! crazy. I wanted to show this today since I used my favorite SAB stamp set and TODAY IS THE LAST DAY to earn it!!! It is the Bliss stamp set - love the name.

Sorry for the bad picture, I made this as a gift and the early morning light made it hard to take the picture, and the glare didn't help either. I promise it looks so much better in person.

This is a fun notebook holder I made. Did you know that you can buy the clear stamp cases? they are super cheap and are so fun to decorate. The outside has a clear plastic sleve to slide some paper in. I made this for a 12 year old and I wanted something durable so all the outside decor is under the plastic. Inside I decorated a pad of paper. I did have to cut the notepad a little shorter to fit.

Super fun, just add a pen (forgot to take a picture with the pen but it matched)!

Cupcake Party

Ok I am realizing that I keep straying to pennants and banners! I think they are so much fun! To make these pennants, I cut a bunch of old olive rectangles I just attached them with one dimensional each and made sure that it layed on the top of the thread and under the pennant! easy. I did basically the same thing with the ribbon ties but used glue dots instead.

Love this saying even though the textured paper makes it a little hard to read!

The pages were fun to make because we got to use almost all the stamps in the stamp set to make all the different kinds of cupcakes.

So I have to admit something... I didn't use 100% Stampin' Up! products on this layout. This white crochet thread was store bought... It was hard for me but guess what? It is coming! you can see it in the next mini catalog! YEA! I kind of wish I waited a couple months to make these pages but I didn't know until after the class was over.

Sew Much

This is the card we made at stamp club this month. I am LOVING the "oh sew suite" line in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I have a few more things to share with you another day like the pages to match this card, and a darling skirt for my baby :)
The framed tulip border is a new embossing folder! We colored in the sewing maching with aquapainters, and the flower is a big shot sizzlet.

I had to experiment with the pom pom ribbon. The best way I found to attach it is with the tombow liquid glue!

A Little Luck

Last week as I was organizing my photo's into blog posts to show you all, I must have clicked publish instead of save, that is why you all can see the random post from last week. :) oh well those projects don't need instructions right? They were just cut out of the big shot and made as is...

I hope you are all having a great St. Patricks Day! I actually love this holiday, it is fun without the stress! Tonight we are going to have green eggs and pancakes (I love breakfast for dinner), rainbow jello and some yummy caramel rice krispy treats for dessert.

I just had to throw this picture in, isn't this tiny chubby hand so cute! Yes, she loves those buttons :)

My decorations this month were pretty sparce so I made this to put on my piano. My almost 2 year old has already pulled off the letters, (I put them on with dotto, so it is a quick fix) luckily she didn't touch the buttons! The corduroy buttons are retired, but you can still buy a few of the colors HERE while supplies last!

On this card, I used the SAB ribbon and button pack and the Ice Cream Parlor paper. I wanted the ribbon to be more subtle so I used the back side, I love how the image shows through just enough to not over power the other elements on the page.

Trey, my oldest went to the store with his dad to buy some candy for his class. He picked out York Peppermint hearts, and explained to me that we need to make a small red box to put them in. I suggested the owl stamp from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and we got to work. I gave him a Real Red sheet of cardstock and the heart punch and he went to town, We had so many hearts left over :) The boys both love to help roll the dies through the big shot, and they like stamping too!Brady saw Trey's Valentines and wanted to make the same thing for his preschool class. He was lucky, we used textured cardstock for his boxes. It looks so much cuter in person, sorry the pictures don't show it.

Love You Frame

I decided that I needed to make some Valentines Day Decor this year, and I saw this scrabble tile frame and I just had to make my own. My husband has had a scrabble game since before we were married, and I have never seen him play it. Now I am so glad we never got rid of it! I was afraid to show him, wondering if he wouldn't appreciate me using his game this way... but he didn't even realize at first that they were his game pieces :) I promised him that the pieces would be easy to take off if he wanted to play his game, since I just put them on with glue dots.

The heart background is from the Love Impressions Designer Series Paper, and the burlap flower was cut using the table settings die. I cut out 2 flowers, and cut a couple spirals off of one of them (to make the smaller flower), and then I added the extra spirals to the second flower to make it bigger. I then glued the Vintage Flower Adornment inside the biggest one. I love the way it looks!

One other thing I did, was to sand down the edges of the frame. I used the sanding blocks for this, and then I sponged some Crumb Cake ink onto the wood that showed through. I actually wished I had the distressing kit for this but I will try it next time.

Hair Love

I couldn't pass up making some heart hair clips for my one year old. This fabric is from the Deck the Halls fabric pack and guess what? Even though it was in the Holiday Mini catalog, we can still order more! I think this Cherry Cobbler fabric is perfect for Valentines day! To make the hearts, I cut them out with the Hearts and Brackets Big Shot die. Wouldn't these look so cute on a frame, scrapbook pages or cards?

Seasons Greetings Pages

Yes, I am still playing catch-up but I am almost done :) Obviously these were December's club pages.

I was going for a subtle snow theme, with snowflakes and a snowy landscape. I also for the first time ever cut out images from the DSP packs. Can't believe I haven't done that before!

Of course we had to use an embossing folder somewhere :) This one is called Northern Flurry, love those snowflakes.

This fun scallop was cut with the Big Shot and the tasteful trim die. Come back tomorrow to see something made with the fabric that shares this same image as this paper.

ok it is official, I LOVE the cupcake punch and the coordinating cupcake stamps. They are too much fun! This is the card that we made for stamp club this week. In addition to the new stamps and punches, we used the new Sale-a-Bration DSP and ribbon that I earned for FREE by placing a $50 order!

To make the pennants, I first cut out a rectangle (2 1/2 inches x 1 3/8 inch) and then using the 1 3/8 square punch, we snipped out the triangle.

Grateful Pages

It is never too late to be grateful right? These were our club pages from November :) I had lots of fun with this ribbon, it is so easy to ruffle. I even pulled out my sewing machine and let everyone decide if they wanted to sew on the ruffles or not.

I like it both ways, but the stitches seem to make it look more finished. It is actually super simple to sew the ribbon on, and a few of them were brave enough to try it themselves!
I am pretty sure I already shared this card, but I stitched the ribbon on the card too.

To create the multicolored look on these stamps, we just used different stamp pads and sponge daubers.

Baby Shower Invites

I thought it would be appropriate to post this on Groundhog day, because it just keeps coming back. :) I don't know if any of you will remember, but my very first post was almost this same project - it was a baby shower invite for my sister, well my friend saw them and wanted to make some of her own. We used almost the same colors and elephant stamps both times. This card is super fun because it folds flat, but when you pull the tag, it creats a stand.

Shower Invites

I helped make some wedding shower invites again. I actually love making them :)We cut the ribbon in half (length wise), attached it with a staple and tied a knot. I love the frayed edge, it adds more texture... speaking of texture, have I told you how much I love the embossing folders? I LOVE them, so do my stamp club girls... If I don't set some out or add some to a project, they ask for them! Love it! they are getting so smart :)

Halloween Treats

Gratitude Journal

Sticking with the Christmas theme... I was asked to create a cover for a Christmas gratitude journal. This is bigger than the average card, it uses a whole sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock (folded in half). I don't know what I like better, the tasteful trim ribbon (that was sewn on the card) or the scalloped border from the tasteful trim die.

After we finished the front, they bound it to the inside sheets by sewing it together with a sewing machine (sorry I don't have a picture). It was pretty thick, with 10 or so sheets inside. The trick was to slice the raw edge after to create the finished look. (or all the pages inside would stick out farther than the brown card stock in varying lengths)

Definitely a fun project, I am glad I had help making all 75 of them!

Ok so obviously these are way out of season now, but I still want to post all my creations on here. And of course they can be changed to fit your season/theme. This tag below was inspired by a card from our downline group shoebox swap that my talented friend Becky Cowley designed! I rarely use the color River Rock but she opened my eyes!This tag below is a self adhesive tag. I just stuck a sheet of white cardstock on top of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, stamped and punched it out. The adhesive sheets have a backing that you can peel off to stick to your project. You can also use this adhesive with fabric!In my last post, I mentioned how easy it was to package something with a celo bag and a tag, it makes things so much cuter! I'm not sure if you can call this a tag, but a bag topper is close right?

Aviary

I was thinking that my Aviary stamp set has been neglected, and that it needed to be inked a little bit more, especially since I love it so much. I just can't get enough of these bird cages, so naturally I had a blast making these cards.

My favorite part is definitely the ribbon, I first attached the ribbon with snail and then ran it through my sewing machine.

Don't mind the Christmas tag, these were the gifts I gave to my kid's school teachers this year. Look how easy it is to package them with a celo bag, ribbon and a tag!
Of course, chocolate makes everything better.

Recycling!

My friend is doing some charity work and asked if I have any card kits I could sell her. I was looking through my stash and found 20 each of 2 different kits (perfect!). I couldn't remember what this first card was supposed to look like, and I didn't have a picture so I made this card with the pieces: (the dsp is retired...) These pieces came from THIS card. (all except the bird and branch)

It feels SO good to clean out a little bit of my stash, I have so many kits to make both cards and scrapbook pages that I haven't used. Most of them are from shoebox swaps and downline meetings so I only have one kit - not 20 like I did here. It won't be as easy to use them, but I am determined now to use them more!

Flower Class

I am having a flower making class this month (Tuesday the 25th at 8:00 pm). I have a few open spots and I would love to see you there. These are the 3 flowers we are making for only $5. You are welcome to make either one or two sets - great for girls with pigtails or you could give one set for a gift.

I am also making a surprise flower for everyone who comes!

All the flowers will come with a clip and ribbon and a non-slip grip to add if desired. These clips can be attached to headbands, shirts, or bags (I have done all of these before)

I have decided that I LOVE Valentines Day, but I love it for all the pink, glitter, and hearts :) These are the pages and cards we are making this week for stamp club! Doesn't that glitter heart just make you smile? I also love that I don't have glitter all over my house right now. SU sells 12x12 sheets of this awesome-ness and it doesn't make a mess when you cut into it!

Love the love letters? we just debossed them with a letterpress plate and the big shot.

The top one we used the multipurpose platfom without any tabs, and the Impressions pad. The bottom one I used tab 1 and a normal clear cutting pad. Can you see the difference? The top one has much deeper impressions!

We also had an extra glitter heart that we couldn't waste, so inside the card it went.

Finished Canopy

Do you remember these flowers? You can see them here. My sister brought this canopy up to show me (hence the wrinkles) it usually hangs in her 2 year old's room. I am pretty sure it is from IKEA but it only had leaves, so we made some flowers to add to it.

Yes this greeting is smudged, I stamped it after I put the card together... I was too lazy to take it apart and put it back together :)

The red music notes are stamped with the wheel, and the polka dots are made with the big shot and the embossing folder.

Sorry, this picture isn't straight on, the clear plate kept making wierd reflections even without the flash on, So you get to look at it from the top :) I totally copied this idea from my talented friend Ashley. I just simplified mine and added the DSP to the back of the plate instead of the front. I now have this on my stamp shelf so my baby can't touch it, yep I love it that much :)

This crow comes with a bunch of other fabulous vinyl images. I just need to figure out what to do with the rest of them asap!

Got Birthday?

I just love cupcakes. I was challenged to make a birthday card that would work for both men and women and this is what I came up with. We made this at a class and holy cow I seriously looked for the little flower punch FOREVER. I couldn't find it anywhere, my one year old loves to carry these little punches around since they fit perfectly in her little hands :) Luckily I found it in time, the cupcake just isn't the same without it!

Can you see the texture on the chocolate strip behind the cupcake? that is our fabulous textured cardstock. Love it.

Hearts and Pumpkins

Here are the last 2 cards I designed for the group meeting this month. This first card was pretty simple... the second one took a lot longer to make. I loved the dimension on this first card, usually the stamped image is on top, but on this card, it is on the bottom. :) To make this circle/heart image, first punch out the heart out of cardstock and then punch out the circle around it.

To only emboss the top half of the card, I just turned the embossing folder so it was facing the opposite direction that it usually faces. The green border was made with the new decorative label punch, and we stamped the pumpkin with the rock and roll technique.

Poppy Christmas

This card just makes me smile. I am not sure if it is the ruffles, ribbon, bling, or scallops.

The ruffle is actually made from Old Olive cardstock. I first crumpled the strip of cardstock in my hand and then layed it out in ruffles.

I am also loving the Poppy Parade color. It is one of the in-colors, I even just bought a shirt in the same color. So fun! This DSP comes from the hostess paper stack that you can get for free.

As you can see, I sponged the greeting with poppy ink and I also sponged the edge of the white oval that was cut out with the ovals die and the big shot.

I still can't believe I am already making Christmas Cards!!!

I LOVED making these cards, halloween is awesome - probably my favorite holiday. I was able to use so many new punches that I love for these cards! We added a bit of bling to the witches shoe - love the rhinestonesI showed my ladies these three options and It was fun to see the different combinations of cards that they made. I let them choose between dry and heat embossing and let them have fun with the different images. We used the shimmer spray to sparkle the bats.

We made these cards for Stamp Club this month. Some people wanted a non-halloween option so I used a different stamp set and embossing folder to make this card.

Paisley Prints Cards

I created some cards for a downline meeting this weekend, and I can now show them to you! These cards were made with the Paisley Prints stamp set (in the mini). I have to admit that I didn't like this set very much at first. I am not a big fan of paisleys (although they are slowly growing on me) and I was hesitant to use this set, but I ended up loving it. Isn't that how it always is? I will show you the first two cards today, and the last 2 cards soon. This card was my absolute favorite out of the six I made. I love the ribbon! This is the card we will be making next month at stamp club!

I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner! This card would be perfect for Christmas Cards, it is pretty simple and love it. We used Stampin' Up! fabric instead of ribbon!

Fabric Neclace with the Big Shot

I made this a while ago and keep forgetting I have it :) I covered some beads with fabric circles (cut with the big shot) and strung them on wire with some flowers cut from the baskets and blooms die. I attached it to some ribbon with toggles on both ends. My favorite part is the flower. It is actually a pin that I just hooked to the ribbon :) The Big Shot is amazing. seriously don't know what I would do without it!

T-Shirt Re-Fashion

I have been having a lot of fun lately re-fashioning shirts, especially for my little girl. For this shirt, I used the larger scallop on the Scallop's 2 die and the letter A from the simple letters alphabet.

I also had to make a matching hair accessory. For this I used a die that is retired but you could use any one. I just layered a bunch of layers of white and pink fabric and attached it to a felt circle.Then I hot glued it to the headband and added another felt circle (one on each side of the headband)This shirt is one of my favorites. It has also lived through MANY washings and still looks great since I stitched around the edge with a zig zag stitch! I also made a shirt for myself. - my hair is all in my face - the wind was blowing like crazy but the pictures inside didn't work very well...

Can you guess what big shot die I used for my shirt? The flowers aren't very recognizable now that I washed the shirt - but I LOVE how messy they look!

I actually bought 2 of the same shirt, one my size and another the largest size I could find so I would have the most amount of fabric :) I used about half of it and now I can save the rest for another project. (I already used some for a rosette necklace!)

Here is a better picture of the flowers. They look more like flowers in this picture, can you guess the die yet? I first pinned on the flowers and layed out the ruffles like this, and pinned them on a little as well before sewing them. I started with the bottom ruffle and worked my way up and sewed on the flowers last.

Yep I used the flower folds die! I layered 4 flowers on top of each other. (the flower on top is a little bigger than the other 2) I also cut some fun ruffle strips to add as well. I sewed these on with some brown thread for a little contrast.

Sorry for the awkward picture - I took it of myself :) But here you can see the stitching a little better. I just sewed on the flowers with a spiral.

Paper Rose Tutorial

I had some Big Shot fun today. Aren't these roses cool? Well it started out looking like this:

I cut this with the table setting big shot die.

All you do is roll it up, I like to start from the outside and roll it in.

Here is a picture from the back. As you can see, it sits nicely on the center of the spiral. I glued these with hot glue. You can also do it with Crystal Effects but it takes longer to dry. I then cut some leaves from the same big shot die and glued them to my embossed pillow boxes.

I glued one end shut and added some velcro to the other end. Now I just need to fill them with something :)

Sewing on Paper

Yes this paper is retired but I forgot to show it to you when it was current. And I love it :) I actually love sewing on paper, when I was younger, I learned how to sew by practicing on paper before using the fabric :) To sew this book together, I just cut out 4 strips of cardstock and sewed them together. Since the cardstock was so thick, I manually sewed it.

I then trimmed the open end all together to create a smooth edge and stuck some dsp pieces on each end.

2010 In colors

I Love Love the in-colors this year - I am glad they are here for 2 years!!! I saw a similar card on the display boards at convention and fell in love. The card they displayed only had a greeting but I wanted to stamp in each of the colors. This is such a fun way to use more than one embossing folder on a project.

Wedding Shower Invites

I have been making a lot of mass projects lately :) My friend from High School is getting married, and I was able to help throw her a bridal shower. Here are the invitations, super simple, I stamped the medallion stamp set lightly and added a butterfly. I love how the embossing folders give it so much texture.

I love the halfback pearls and rhinestones. I use them ALL the time! For this project I first started putting the large pearls on the butterflies, and then decided I liked the little ones better. Most of the pearls are just individual, but there are a few strings of them attached together, I used those ones. I just snipped the paper every 3 pearls to break them apart and adding them to the butterflies was simple.

You can't see it, but I sprayed the butterflies with shimmer spray I made from the shimmer paint to make them sparkly.

Fabric Flower and Music Notes

I made a few more fabric flowers and this time I put them on cards. Don't you love the Antique brads? I know I do, I have already gone through a few packs of them!
Here is the finished card...

It opens a little different. The bottom part (with the flower) folds down and the top part opens up. I am loving this Music Notes wheel. Now that I have this, my mom's old piano music will be spared (I have already cut up a few of them... shh don't tell! She won't miss them I promise) Oh and on a side note, you can't play the music written on it, the music was definitely written to look pretty, not play a pretty song, but it serves it's purpose.

6 point flower tutorial

As promised, here is the flower tutorial! Feel free to ignore my ugly table... I know it is ugly, but it is flat and solid so it makes a great stamping surface. Oh, and as I was making the flower for my friend, I forgot to take pictures at the end, so I made another one with different fabric and added in the photos. I also wanted to mention that I didn't come up with this flower, I have seen it a few places but I haven't heard of anyone cutting the circles with the big shot... seriously people, stop cutting flowers and circles by hand - it takes too much time and you don't have a perfect finished product!

Ok here we go! 1. Start with 6 circles. I cut these with the Clear circle big shot die. They are just shy of 4 inches in diameter.

2. fold each circle in half, and then in half again so you have a pie shape like these. Since my fabric was random colors, I wanted to lay it out to make sure I had a good mixture of colors, but you could just fold up each one as you go if you want. My well used big shot cutting plates worked great to keep them folded until I needed them.

3. You will need a needle and thread. You will want to double up the thread and tie a knot in the end.

4. ok grab your first circle, and accordian fold the open end. You will fold it just like you made paper fans as a kid. The more folds, the wider the flower. I like to fold mine 5 times. (remember there are 4 layers of fabric)

5. Stick your needle through all the layers of fabric. I like to sew each petal 2 times, so after you stick it through the first time, slide it down to the bottom of the thread and stick your needle through it again going the same direction.

6. Repeat with all 6 petals. You should then have a chain of them looking like this. Remember to keep them very close together.

7. Bring the ends together to create the flower shape. Just stick your needle into the petal on the other end and tie a couple of knots.

8. (sorry no picture) Now you want to close the gap in the middle. This part gets a little messy but don't worry, you will hide it. Just stitch opposite sides of the circle together and make sure you do this to every petal. I do this on the top and when I am done, I stick the needle down the center so the thread is now on the other side, and sew it together again on the bottom.

9. When you are finished, it should look something like this. Just tie off the end of the thread and snip off the excess.

10. Pick your favorite flower topper. It will need to be wide enough to cover the center. Buttons or brads work great. I glue mine in with hot glue. I actually stick my glue gun in the center of the flower (on the top and the bottom) to help keep the flower together. Then quickly stick the brad into the middle of the flower or the button on top and admire your work!

You can then glue a hair clip, pin. or felt circles on the back.

Here is a smaller flower I made. I cut these out with the largest circle in the circles #2 die. I added this one to a scrapbook page. Here is another one I put on a neclace.

I used the felt circles method to glue this on. I had 2 felt circles the same size. Glue one onto the flower, lay the chain down, (or ribbon, or headband, etc.) and glue the other circle on.

Fabric Flowers

I love making fabric flowers. I actually made these for my friend so she could wear them on her hats.

This flower was cut out of a polyester based satin fabric with the circles dies. Then I just burned the edges with a candle. Love these. The edges curl up and it really pops!

Like most of my flowers, I cut a piece of fabric and felt at the same time and layer them together so they aren't so floppy. This flower was made with the Flower Folds die and the Baskets & Blooms die for the center flower.

This was a super easy flower to make, It is cut from the Island Floral Big Shot Die.

I LOVE rosettes. I seriously make them all the time. I made these the same way I did HERE, using the stick pages. The rosette on the flower was made with Stampin' Up! Satin ribbon, and the rosettes behind the flower were made from fabric. The flower was also made with the Island Floral Big Shot Die.

The pink rosette is made with the Blushing Bride Ribbon isn't it so fun?

I used the clear circle die to make this flower it is a tad bit harder to make than the others, but I love the way it looks. If you would like to see a tutorial on how to make these, just leave me a comment and I will get started.

I was asked to create a super quick centerpiece for a bridal shower, I didn't have much time at all to make one so this is what I threw together. The Bride's colors were bright pink, orange, and yellow - so much fun for a summer wedding!

So I pulled out my retired DSP and buttons and got to work.

The gummy candy was perfect. you can stick the skewers right into the candy and the pinwheels stayed in place perfectly.

Sorry, the pictures didn't turn out that great... the sun was shining on the window and so it appeared darker in the pictures than it really was. oh well.

Taggy Blanket with Crinkly Circles

When I made my taggy blanket for my daughter (you can see it here), I had an idea that I wanted to try. I wanted to cut out an image in fabric and in a celo bag and sew them together to make a crinkly image! So I cut out some circles with my big shot and gave it a try. It was kind of tricky to sew them both together... I think next time I won't use such a slippery fabric since the celo bag is slippery too. It doesn't look really pretty, but it totally works! The circles crinkle like so many baby toys thest days... and since it is just a small circle it isn't obnoxious!

I chose to do circles because the fabric on the back had circles, and of course I finished it up with a bunch of Stampin' Up! ribbon.... some of it is retired though.

Aren't these aliens so fun! I think my kids would love stamping with these :) Isn't this so cute! My friend Heather made this, it is a book to write down the funny things that kids say. I am excited to fill it with quotes from my kids. Isn't that such an awesome idea!

This has always been one of my favorite stamp sets as I browse the Idea Book and Catalog... So I figured it was about time to ink it up! Something about those super cute birds just make me smile.I actually stamped these birds 2 times. I first just stamped them on the white cardstock but I wanted them to pop... so I stamped them again and cut them out. I also didn't have the right color of ribbon so I just dyed some white ribbon with a stamp pad and a sponge dauber!

Spring Wreath

Yes I know it is almost Fall... But I just took off the butterflies so I can decorate it with halloween stuff and I wanted to share :) I decorated this for my daughters butterfly birthday. I wanted it to be temporary, so I just stuck the butterflies on with a dimensional. To make the flowers, I cut out a bunch of paper circles with my big shot, stamped them with one of the stamps from the Elements of Style stamp set, and made them with this tutorial. I keep meaning to make more so they go all around the wreath... maybe someday.

Baby Card

Ok speaking of no baby stamps... I went to a baby shower a little bit ago and this is what I came up with. The color is kind of washed out, but it is Pear Pizzazz. I sponged the edges of the letters to help them pop! Oh and I LOVE this Daffodil Delight ribbon, and the DSP in the paper stack- it is so cute and such a good deal :)
