Gift Packaging

I love to decorate gift bags.  I have shared some before but want to share some more.  Even some simple banners dress up a gift sack.   

 For this bag, I simply put my card in a clear envelope, and attached it with clothespins.  A strip of fabric or ribbon ties it together nicely.

 The last gift I made a simple tag and used another strip of fabric.  Ribbon would be great for this also. 

I hope this inspires you to decorate your brown paper packages :)

Hexagons and Off the grid

 I put together a few of my favorite things to make this card... firstly the color combo, the hexagons, the Off the Grid stamp, chevrons, simply pressed clay flower, ruffles, and this awesome saying... Do you remember it in the catalog?  It is in the Horse Frontier stamp set. 



Dahlia rings and feather boxes

I just love Stampin' Up! events and I love giving gifts to my downline who attend with me!  In April I went to a regional event in Riverton at the home office.  I made some fun rings to give to my downline.  I wanted to package them up cute but didn't have time so as I was literally running out the door I grabbed my kit of these adorable boxes and put it together while listening to the speakers.  shhh don't tell!  Didn't they turn out great?  I love pre-packaged kits!  I only needed adhesive and it was all designed for me.  I quickly snapped a picture before handing them out. 

 

 The kit also came with some crumbcake striped bakers twine and some mini banners.  Perfect for a little note :)

Zoo Babies Card Class

Aren't these animals so cute?  I love all the animals in the zoo babies stamp set. It was hard to make a card with just one so I stuffed as many as I could onto this card :) 

 

 

What is it about babies at the zoo?  They are so fun to watch!  Is it their playful nature or the fact that they are more our size or because we don't have to touch them or clean up after them?  Who knows.  I who am not an animal lover sure enjoyed watching the baby elephant play with her ball at the zoo last year :)  so cute right? 

 

 

Well with these stamps, we get the cuteness with out the mess.  Well almost :)  I know my kids will love playing with these stamps.  The stamp set comes with a few other animals and 2 greetings that go perfectly together. 

 

 

This card was so fun to make, don't you just love the washi tape?  I LOVE that it is transparent, so the So Saffron shows through.  Also did you notice the strip of Soft Sky ribbon on the bottom?  It is kind of hard to see in the picture but it adds just the right amount of texture while keeping the animals in the spotlight.   We are all so glad Soft Sky is back right?  I also thought that for a baby boy card, I would leave off the cute flower on the giraffe.  (the flower was punched out with the tiny 4 petal flower... I then crumpled it up and pulled the paper apart to make 2 flowers and stuck them together... if you have questions on this feel free to ask :)

Positively Chevron

Have you seen the Positively Chevron stamp in the catalog?  Well It is a huge background stamp!  It completely covers an entire card so making this cards background was so fun.  I inked up the chevron stamp with 5 different colors... Pistachio Pudding, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, and Wild Wasabi.  Now this took a bit of time to color in all of the chevrons... so I stamped it again on another piece of Wisper White to make this card. 

 

 

 

 

At first glance I liked this second card better, and to lighten up the top card a bit I rubbed my white ink pad over the top of the chevrons.  I also inked up the Calypso Coral banner on the edges of both cards.

Dad's Stache with photopolymer stamps.

One of the fathers day gifts I gave this year was this "stache" of treats.  This is actually my first mustache project :)  I created this tag with the Designer Typeset Photopolymer stamps.  This stamp set is definitely a keeper!  (the mustache is from the retired snowman set)

 Don't you just love those chubby little hands!  My one year old couldn't resist trying to get the treats.  Well he actually likes trying to grab anything I am taking pictures of :)

My favorite part has got to be the date stamp in the bottom corner.  I love the Remember This and That Rotary Stamp!  This stamp also comes with a bunch of sayings that go in front of the date... I didn't want to stamp those so I just inked up the date only with my Gumball Green marker.  Voila!
One other thing I found out is that snail works great when wrapping presents.  My boys seem to always take the scotch tape to use in their projects and I couldn't find it anywhere when I was wrapping presents so I grabbed my snail.  Look how good this present looks... see no tape marks :)

 

Brady's Undefined Stamp

Brady (my 7 year old and I) made this awesome stamp!  Can you tell what it is? 

 

 

If you said Batman then you are right!  Don't you just love his ear?   I do because It is my son's artwork, forever preserved in this stamp.  How did we do this you might ask?  Well it all started with this:

I won prize patrol at convention and received my own tools to make my own stamps!  It also came with some notecards and washi tape to make my own cards with.  Now I was sceptical at first, I mean I am NOT good at drawing.  I can make cards because I am using other peoples awesome artwork.  But it is suprisingly easy! 

 

 

 Shannon West presented onstage and showed us her stamp set of breakfast foods.  I just love the stamps she made! 

 

After her presentation, they put up this display board that shows everything we get in the kit and some awesome stamps that were created.

 

Are you getting excited yet?  I am in love with this idea! 

 

 

Ok so to start out, we get a big piece of rubber and a big piece of foam.  I actually love this because if we want to make a big stamp, we can by using the clear blocks and the clear mount cling foam.  I wanted to use the wood blocks that come in the set so I first cut down the rubber to fit on the blocks, making sure I had enough rubber for each wood block. 

 

Then I had Brady draw his picture in pencil on some paper.  We use pencil because when we place it upside down on the rubber, the picture shows up and we can carve it out with the tools. 

 

Just remember to stamp your image on the block before adhering the stamp to the block. 

(don't worry, instructions and samples come in the box!)  Now his stamp and drawing don't match up exactly because he carved most of the stamp.  But he did such a good job!

 

One last thing I had him do was to sign his name and date on the top of the wood block. It was so fun I definitely plan on creating more stamps with my kids and some of my own drawings!

Six Sided Sampler

No Stampin' Up! Event is complete without a swap.  We had an organized swap with up to 60 demonstrators in our group, and here is the card I made. 

 

I love these colors... Smoky Slate, Costal Cabana, and Crushed Curry, so I was super excited to see this Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper.  Don't you just love those colors?  Half of the Hexagons were punched out with this DSP and the top 3 were stamped with the Six Sided Sampler Stamp set.  (wow that is a tongue twister :)

 

The white piece of cardstock was created with the big shot and the Chalk Talk framelits.  It was so easy with the new magnetic platform, a 9 year old could do it....  seriously, my 9 year old did cut them all out for me!  It is fun to have big helpers!

Zucchini Bread

I recently made a batch of zucchini bread and wanted to share it.  We decided to give it to some of my kids church teachers, and since it isn't very fun to just give a loaf of bread, I decided to make it look pretty.  I first started with a strip of Costal Cabana chevrons from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks.  This is wrapped all the way around the bread.  All it needed now was a tag from the Chalk Talk framelits and a bit of Summer Starfruit ribbon to hold it in place. 

 

 

To make the Summer Starfruit Doily, I just lightly inked it up with my stamp pad.  The Simply Pressed flower created the perfect touch.  After I snapped this photo, I wrote who the bread was for on the tag to personalize it a bit, and I am so glad I have the stampin write markers that match!

 

 

One tip i would like to share... The flowers take a while to dry but are sooo easy to make.  So when I am making some for a project I always make a few extra and store them in one of the clear stamp set cases.  That way when I am doing a project like this it is easy to grab one and adhere.  I like to attach them with hot glue or dimensionals.  Glue dots also work but not as well for me.

Tape it

Washi tape is soooo popular and so fun.  When I saw this stamp set in the catalog I seriously squealed.  I just had to have it on my next order.  I know I am not alone in this because I see this stamp set EVERYWHERE on pinterest!

The simply pressed clay buttons add some fun dimension to this card, the best part is that the buttons are sooo light and we can make them in any color!!!
