My mom called me up one day wanting to make some of these taggy blankets. We had a lot of fun shopping and sewing but the thing that made these cute was the fun ribbon I have collected from Stampin' Up!

My Bookmark
Following the fabric theme this month. Here is a bookmark I made. I first cut 4 circles with the circles #2 die. I stitched the bottom 3 so they bunched up a bit and then added the last circle and the clear button that are both 1 inch! I love when things fit perfectly! I then stitched them together and hand stitched it to the Certainly Celery ribbon. I love the fabric bookmark because I don't need to worry about it bending. I can stuff it in my bag and nothing will happen to it!

Hairbow Frame
I have made a TON of hairbows for my baby and I have been wanting to hang up my favorite ones. I finally decided how I wanted it to look! I made all the bows with the big shot and their dies. Most of the big shot dies I used are ones that you can only buy through Stampin' Up!, but not all of them :) Here is the backside. I hot glued ribbon onto the frame and I just clip my bows onto the ribbon.
(I bought my frame from my neighbor who is really good with wood...)

Scallop Square Skirt
Have you seen the scallop square purse yet? It is super popular right now. (I haven't made one yet, but it will be my next sewing project :) I took the idea of the purse and made a skirt instead! Every once in a while I come up with something on my own that surprises me. That is pretty much how I feel about this. I am also amazed that I made this all by myself!
All the squares were cut out of fabric with the big shot using this trusty die pictured below. This die cuts through 8 layers of fabric at a time and the squares are 4 3/8 x 4 3/8!
I also decorated her shirt and I made a hairbow to match, all using the big shot. I love that thing!Wednesday, April 21, 2010
My first fabric bracelet!!!
I have had fabric on the brain for a while and I was so proud of myself that I came up with this on my own! I have been using the Stampin' Up! Taffeta ribbon with Jewelry for a while now and I decided to make my own bracelet using fabric and the big shot dies. The bracelet is held together by a toggle clasp and I added flowers from the baskets and blooms die (cut out of both fabric and felt) and I covered the large beads with fabric cut out with the largest circle of the circles #2 die!

Felt Box
I have seen felt baskets made out of the baskets and blooms die and I wondered if A box would work. It took a lot more time to stitch it together instead of glue but it was so fun to make and fun to look at! I also cut out the oval and the butterfly from big shot dies!
The box was pretty flimsy so I cut a strip of chipboard and just snailed on some fabric, and then I just added a little bit of hot glue to keep it in place inside.

Make Life....
As I was walking through our local fabric store, this fabric jumped out at me. I just had to take it home! Yes you heard me right, this is fabric!!! I have been having a ton of fun preparing to present at my upline's meeting for demonstrators in her group. The meeting is TODAY so I can now share all my samples! This card was super simple and so fun to make. I dusted off my sewing machine and stitched around the edge of the top note. I didn't bother to tie the ends, I like how it looks like this :)
Then I just cut a few flowers and attached them with dimensionals. I am not sure if they will stay put forever so I might add a brad later if they fall off.
The center of this flower is the Sizzlet Floral Fusion. Wow you are saying, you didn't know that sizzlets cut fabric? Well they don't. I tried to cut it out a bunch of different ways, I tried cutting the fabric with paper, more than one layer and with a shim but all it did was cut maybe 1/3 and leave an impression (like when you score paper) everywhere else. I ended up cutting them out with scissors. SO when you make your own card, just pick a different flower for the centers. I figured since I went through the hastle, I added it to my card.
I hope you are ready to see all the fun things I made with fabric in the past month!

I am in LOVE...
With the new Stampin' Up! Colors! The company announced a Color Renovation and I am SO SO SO excited. They sent the demonstrators samples of the new colors and they are SO pretty! (I didn't get the Cajun Craze, did any of you fellow demos get it?)
I will come back soon to share all the changes!
