It's all about the center

I haven't designed anything for a few days but I did for the first time ever make hair bows, or I guess they are hair flowers. I don't know the correct term, those of you who have girls, what are these called?? you can click on the picture to make it bigger. My Mom and Sister bought some flowers from the craft store and It looked like fun to make something girly, so I bummed a few flowers after I realized that I couldn't make many with just my Stampin' Up! supplies (I did make one all SU!). With all the flowers we made we used my Stampin' Up! stuff for the centers. Our favorite centers were with the build-a-brad. With the cream and hot pink flower we just used a antique brass build-a-brad without a paper cut out, the blue flower has a circle of chocolate chip cardstock and the poinsettas have a large halfback pearl on top of the build-a-brad. I also loved the felt fusion flowers in the middle. Our 1/4 inch grosgrain was great to cover the clips with too!!
Which one is your favorite???

Pop Out Valentine

I have had Valentines Day themed ideas on my mind lately, can you tell? I have a valentines day workshop next week that I am making projects for. This idea is from one of Stampin' Up!'s talented demonstrators (I don't remember her name but I will try to remember to add it later :)
I thought this would be a lot harder than it was and it is fun to see it unfold when you open it. For this project I used the love you much stamps that are on sale this month (check the link on the left) and Iused the Bella Rose DSP (designer series paper).

A catalog case

One thing that I love in our catalogs is all the awesome ideas. You need one of these books, there are hundreds of ideas. Ask me how you can get one for free!! When I saw the hearts on page 56 I knew I would have to learn how to make it. I love the idea to put a cookie inside like in the new catalog. If I had one I would put a sugar cookie with pink icing in this bag to show you but I don't and I didn't want to make them either :)

I Absolutely Love Love Love this, it was so simple and fun to make and I love the way it turned out. The only stamp I used was the Polka Dot background stamp. The flower I used is from the pretties kit. I also love the basic grey and the pink together, it reminds me of my mom cause she likes these colors together.

Do you want to learn how to make this???

EDIT: This is another great reason to be a Stampin' Up! Demo. Stampin' Up! gives us a lot of resources like this pattern and many more on the Stampin' Up! Demo Website. I would love it if you would like to join my group of demonstrators. If you have any questions, please contact me!

B-mine

I really wanted to use this stamp set and last night I tried to stamp while watching my favorite TV show online and so that is my excuse for not loving this card. I think it needs a little help but I love the colors together and I really like the Urban Garden DSP. oh well, better luck next time.

Homemade Notebooks

My friend Ashley made some of these awesome notebooks and I thought they were so cute and they were surprisingly easy to make. Ashley and Kristina can tell you how to make them better than I can and Kristina even has a video so click on their names for the instructions :) For these notebooks I used the Eastern Blooms stamps and the Riding Hood Red and Washington Apple DSP. (designer series paper)
Just a side view. I loved Ashley's tip to use the ribbon as a bookmark, so clever. Well this last one I made with my sisters retired music stamp set because I thought this book would be perfect for me. I play the piano for the kids primary in church and this notebook will be perfect to keep notes of the songs to practice for the next week!

Wild About Candy!

Something that not many people know about me is that my favorite candy is Good & Plenty. Yes I did go through a junior mint phase and they are still really good but for the last year or so it has been these pink and white covered licorice. I just found out today that they are a perfect color of Rose Red, which I love so I decided to decorate them. (we will see how long they stay wrapped up) The Stampin' Up! top note die for the bigshot works for both the small and medium sized celo bags. This one is a small one, if you want to use the medium one then just fold the top note the other direction! The scallop circle I used is the smallest circle from the Big Shot Scallop Circles #2 die.

Here is another topper, this time I used real red, so saffron, and certainly celery and the valentine birds that are so cute! (the words I used are retired)
Here is a picture of our fisherman :)

Fishing Hat ... or not.

My 5 year old needs to dress up as a fisherman for preschool tomorrow and we don't have any fishing clothes so I changed the costume army hat into a fishing hat. I think it looks pretty cool to my untrained eye, so to those of you who have actually fished in your life let me know how it could be improved! All I did was fray some grosgrain ribbon and tie it to a safety pin! Melanie my sideline figured out how to do this years ago and I haven't found many uses but it is pretty fun but man the ribbon part that you throw away is so full of static it is hard to get it off you :)

This is a flower from my 5 year old son. He was looking at the front of the sale-a-bration brochure (a link and picture are on the left) and he told me that he could make that flower so here is his creation. (I helped him cut the flower a little) He decided to put an icecream cone in the middle instead of circles so here is his mint chocolate chip icecream lol!

Birthday Card

In our family we have 7 birthdays in January and I only made one birthday card. I guess that it is important to give them to our parents, sorry to the other 6 of you, it doesn't mean we don't love you too and Happy Birthday!

For this card I found the color combo from our new Idea Book and Catalog that is going live tomorrow!! The DSP I used is from our retiring halloween pack of paper, I loved the striped kiwi kiss. I also pulled out my summer sun for the first time in quite a while so it was good to get the dust off :)

Updated Retired Accessories

I just updated the retired accessories list. To see what is still available to purchase click here.

It's Here!!

I was surprised on Tuesday to come home to my new box of catalogs!! I planned on stamping the past couple of days but I have spent my stamp time pouring over the pages lol! If you are in my stamp club feel free to come pick one up.

So Here is my next Valentines Day idea. This is a pretty easy box, the pink part is a no adhesive box that you make by scoring and doing a couple of fun folds. The sleve (striped paper) does have a tiny bit of adhesive to hold it together. I wish I had some valentines candy to put inside to give the full effect but you can probably imagine it well enough.

Fun Folds

I love cards with fun folds and this is one! you start with a long sheet, I used 10.5 x 3.5 and I scored it on both ends at 3.5 inches. then you score the middle square diagonally and when you fold it you get this cool pocket inside to put your message, gift card, etc.

All the paper and stamps comes from the love you much bundle on sale this month, check the link on the left for more details :)
