Fishing Hat ... or not.

My 5 year old needs to dress up as a fisherman for preschool tomorrow and we don't have any fishing clothes so I changed the costume army hat into a fishing hat. I think it looks pretty cool to my untrained eye, so to those of you who have actually fished in your life let me know how it could be improved! All I did was fray some grosgrain ribbon and tie it to a safety pin! Melanie my sideline figured out how to do this years ago and I haven't found many uses but it is pretty fun but man the ribbon part that you throw away is so full of static it is hard to get it off you :)

This is a flower from my 5 year old son. He was looking at the front of the sale-a-bration brochure (a link and picture are on the left) and he told me that he could make that flower so here is his creation. (I helped him cut the flower a little) He decided to put an icecream cone in the middle instead of circles so here is his mint chocolate chip icecream lol!

  1. It looks perfect! Such a cute idea too. I love his flower too.

  2. Too cute! My untrained eye thinks that fishing hat is great! :) And I LOVE his flower. Too cute! Tell him great job! :)

  3. I think the hat looks great. I don't think I would have ever thought to fray ribbon to look like flys. :) Oh, and I love his card, the little ice cream cone is too cute! :)
