2nd Annual Wedding Card Class

In January I held my 2nd Annual Wedding Card Class.  It was a success so I will probably have another one next year.  Here are the cards we made:

 Everyone who attends gets to choose which cards they make and how many of each card.  All the cards were well loved and chosen by many people.   I tried to make a variety and I think I accomplished that. 

 

This first card is made with various punches and the Occasions Alphabet.  I love the sayings on this alphabet!

 I just love the chevrons and butterflies on this card.  The silver Glimmer paper gave it just the right amount of shine

The neutral colors on this card really speak to me.  The Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Sahara Sand.  You can't go wrong with this color combo. 

 I loved that flower trim....

My favorite part on this card was the burlap inspired ribbon.  To make this unique bow, I had one long piece of ribbon and tied a knot near the end.  Before pulling the knot tight, I slipped a shorter piece through the knot.

 After stamping with Basic Gray Ink, I used Stampin Write markers to outline the leaves and color in the flower for a subtle pop of color.

 This card definitely had a lot of stamping.  The scalloped flower has 4 images stamped onto it.  We then crumbled it in our hands to give it some dimension before adhering it to the card.

 

 This card was the favorite of the night... the chalkboard technique is so big this year. 

 I started by rubbing the embossing buddy over the black cardstock (this helps the embossing powder to only stick to the versamark and not to the cardstock).  After heat embossing, I used a sponge with the white ink to add some "chalk dust" to the cardstock.

 The flowers were lightly dipped on the stamp pad to add a bit of color.

Dress Up Framelits

I am in love with the Dress Up framelits.  We had a lot of fun at my stamping class in May.  I provided the supplies and these samples and let my friends choose how to dress up their dress form!

 

 

 

 

This last card uses the now retired stamp set.  I still love it though.

Wedding Card Class

I had A LOT of requests lately for wedding cards from a group of ladies, so last month we got together and made a bunch.  I told them to stock up for a year :)  I gave them 6 choices of cards and let them make as many as they wanted of each one.   I will share with you the cards we made, if any of you would like to make some of these with a group of your friends, I am happy to help!

This Card was Cased from Shelli Gardner herself.  (she is the founder of Stampin' Up!)  She demonstrated to us at leadership and showed us a card that was super similar to this... I just changed the stamps and DSP.  The Designer Series paper I used is the Sale-a-bration paper pack that is available through this month.

This card I cased from one of the demonstrators in our group... I don't remember who made the origional card but it was a swap from one of our group meetings.  I just changed it up by adding the new FABULOUS Pleated Satin Ribbon. 

ok this ribbon deserves a close up... I had some people not sign up for this card because they thought they would have to ruffle the ribbon... but it comes already ruffled for you!

This wedding wishes card was the favorite!  I just love those birds and the pool party color is one of my favorites right now, it just screams spring to me.  This card was cased from the Stampin Success Magazine (the one that demonstrators get every month).  I loved the card and just changed the image and size of the framelit.

Love that doily!  I also had a lot of questions about the white flowers... I just punched them with the Boho Blossoms punch.  (I only used the 2 smallest flowers)

This card was their second favorite.  I loved it too.  I was inspired on this card layout by pinterest (yep love that website!)

This card you have seen... I already posted about it but wanted to keep it with the class post :)  I have been seeing a ton of bold wedding colors lately... Orange is the color of the year right?

Wedding Shower Decor

I recently helped with my cousin's wedding shower. I made a few of the decorations, all sticking to her colors. I wanted to decorate this jar and fill it with candy, so I made this tag with the 2 tags die and the big shot, found some black jellybeans at the store and filled it up. It was great because the candy matched the colors - which is all that matters right? I hope so cause hardly anyone ate them but me... so I took home the leftovers, but let me tell you, the jellybeans do wierd things to your system, seriously it would make a great st patricks day prank. LOL! ok sorry if that was too much info... Here is a close up of the tag, everything is from Stampin' Up! except the flowers.

The best part, is that my cousin took the tag and ribbon to decorate a picture frame!
Another decor item I made were these medallions that I hung from the light above the table. There was a black one too, but it wasn't in the picture...

Artistic Etchings

These are the cards we made at stamp club last month. Everyone got to choose their favorite strip of DSP and ribbon. All the cards use the same basic supplies, and I encouraged them to make it their own. It was fun to see all the different card combinations! What card is your favorite?

Wedding Shower Invitations

One of my favorite cousins is getting married next month! We are throwing her a shower and I get to make the invites!

The plain white space is where all the info will go...I made both of these and let her pick, but I don't know which one she wants yet :) She requested flowers for the accent and I made them in her wedding colors and I am loving the Black and Vanilla!

Which one do you like best? I can't decide!

Shower Invites

I helped make some wedding shower invites again. I actually love making them :)We cut the ribbon in half (length wise), attached it with a staple and tied a knot. I love the frayed edge, it adds more texture... speaking of texture, have I told you how much I love the embossing folders? I LOVE them, so do my stamp club girls... If I don't set some out or add some to a project, they ask for them! Love it! they are getting so smart :)

Wedding Shower Invites

I have been making a lot of mass projects lately :) My friend from High School is getting married, and I was able to help throw her a bridal shower. Here are the invitations, super simple, I stamped the medallion stamp set lightly and added a butterfly. I love how the embossing folders give it so much texture.

I love the halfback pearls and rhinestones. I use them ALL the time! For this project I first started putting the large pearls on the butterflies, and then decided I liked the little ones better. Most of the pearls are just individual, but there are a few strings of them attached together, I used those ones. I just snipped the paper every 3 pearls to break them apart and adding them to the butterflies was simple.

You can't see it, but I sprayed the butterflies with shimmer spray I made from the shimmer paint to make them sparkly.

Just Believe pages

I love generic titles on my scrapbook pages... I was thinking this could be a good friends forever page or Love you forever or anything related to a wedding :)

Love Love the color spritzer. I was thinking this was a perfect place for a little journaling...

This would be good for the date...And here is the finished product! Oh and fyi - the pearls stick great to the ribbon... I wasn't sure if they would!

Wedding Cards

I have had A LOT of requests for wedding cards lately :) We made these cards at stamp club this month. My club ladies usually make 5 of the same card (if they don't want to make the scrapbook pages), but since many of them give wedding cards to the same people, I wanted to have a little variety! So they could make any combination of these three cards that they wanted! I actually love these cards, I love the pearls SO MUCH, the ribbon is awesome and I pulled out my color spritzer - something I definitely don't use enough!

I actually love this stamp set. Definitely one of my very favorites in the catalog this year. It is called Just Believe. We used this stamp set along with the medallion stamp on the scrapbook pages as well!

Wedding Table Favors

I was stamping crazy last week. My friend's son is getting married and she asked me to design and make 120 boxes. She wanted the boxes to also be a place card, so each one needed a name on it. Also the colors were black, silver, Pretty in Pink, and Melon Mambo. (I am SO glad Stampin' Up! sells the Brushed Silver cardstock - it is awesome!)

My friend didn't know what she wanted them to look like, so I made up a few samples using the Big Shot. I wanted them all to be very different. Which one do you like?

(the Melon Mambo box that is open is sprayed with shimmer spray and the Upsy Daisy box is embossed Silver on Silver)

We ended up mixing 2 of them (She liked the black box on the front left for the base and the flower on the black box on the back right). This is the box we made. Here is the top view,

and here is the view from the front with the name tag.
The top of the box is embossed with the new Lattice embossing folder! LOVE this thing.

I learned that the best way to keep the box together is to use a glue stick and a bone folder - the glue stick worked better than sticky strip on this project (crazy I know) and the bone folder was wonderful!

The flowers were made using the scallop circle punch and the leaves were punched out of the silver cardstock with one of my favorite punches... the Two-Step Bird!

What do 120 boxes look like? well this isn't even half of them. Here are all the pieces...

and this is a few finished ones! I didn't bother closing them, since she was filling them with chocolate mints and putting on the names. (I gave her some sheets of Pretty in Pink cardstock, she printed the names on the computer, punched them out with the word window punch and attached them.)

I really enjoyed making these and my kids loved helping me with the flowers. My 4 year old helped me to crimp them so I could rip them apart, and my 6 year old sprayed them with a squirt bottle and piled them on top of each other so I could attach the brad and shape them!

I wish I had a picture of them on the table at the luncheon, but the day was so crazy they didn't think to take one until it was too late... totally understandable.

EDIT: quite a few people have asked me how we made these flowers. I have no idea who came up with it first, I have seen a few tutorials floating out in blog land but I will grab my boys and make another one to show you soon!
