I used the Big Shot!

I just love this owl. I am trying to convince my 2 year old that it is just a decoration and not candy but I thought I better get a picture before he decides to check out for himself. This Owl was a gift from my upline Jill Olson. She made one for everyone who went to her downline meeting. I am not a big owl fan but I fell in love with this one.

We made some cards using the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die. They each have a little card tucked inside that we stamped with the Say it with Scallops Stamp set, thank you UPS!!

One of my favorite cards we made in St George is this last one, we used the Top Note Bigz Die (the same one on the owl's head). The Kindred Spirits stamp set is so fun to use.

Stamping in St George

I just got back from a weekend of stamping, friends, and fun. I went to St George for my upline Jill Olsen's downline meeting. It was super fun. do you want to see what we made? I don't know who designed these but I will give the credit to Jill.
We left the meeting a little early so I caught the earlier flight home. I had the perfect moment to take a picture but I didn't know anyone around me and I was creating a little too much attention already but this is what I did. The St George Airport is Tiny and I mean Tiny they have free parking and security is only open a part of the day. They have only 2 small rooms to wait in. one for arrivals and one for departures. I was in the arrivals section because security was closed. They only have 5 benches to sit on and in the middle of them they have the only table, I had a bunch of cards I didn't put together so I pulled the table over to my bench and layed out my supplies to put the cards together. It was fun to watch everyone stare at me like I am some crazy stamper!!

Lollipop Flowers and magnet boards

The first decor elements I bought was this cute lollipop flower. I liked the small one so it would fit on my magnet board from Ikea. I bring it to a lot of my stamping events. It is great to display the projects that we are working on. When it is at home I either display one of my scrapbook pages or more often I fill it up with projects that I am working on.

Stampin' Up! often spoils us demonstrators and this next picture is proof of one of those occasions. They sent every demonstrator a free decor elements flower and I put this on another magnet board. I changed the ribbon on the top to chocolate to match the flower.

Yes the walls in my stamp room are grey it was grey when we bought the house a few months ago and I am seriously putting off painting. I am not ready for that big of a project yet and I can't decide which Stampin' Up! color to paint it yet do you have any ideas?

Picture Frames

Just thought I would let you know that the picture frames I posted here are on clearance at Target for only $1.48 so head on over :)

Ahoy Matey

I love Halloween so I thought I would show my layout of us from last year although I think it is more pirate than Halloween. This Scrapbook page is pretty simple just paper, ink and stamps. I didn't have much to journal so I just used the word window punch to create my journal space on each photo.

I also made a pirate card that would be really cute for a pirate party invitation (Kristi are you reading this???) After I colored it using my trusty Aqua painters I added crystal effects to the sword and eye patch for a little shine.

oops, I just realized that I flipped the pages. Here is how it is supposed to look, not that it makes much difference.

Simple Wedding Card

This card was really fast to make, I stamped the grass in versamark before I stamped the Inspired by Nature flowers. I didn't want to wait until the craft white dried so I heated it a little with the heat tool before I stamped the words. This was the first time I used the new Baja Breeze color and I love it!

Flight of the Butterfly

I guess I really like glitter on my butterflies. I just realized I haven't used this stamp set without glitter! This is a card I made for a swap that didn't make the cut. After I stamped the butterflies I inked the whole butterly with versamark and embossed it with the iridescent ice embossing powder to make it shine.

I was really proud of myself that I figured out how to make the ridinghood red circles all by myself. I used the scallop edge punch, after I punched one side I just turned the paper around and punched the other side.

I love this punch and so does my two year old. My kids are really really really good at not getting into my supplies especially since I turned my family room into my stamping room. The one thing I don't mind if they play with is my punches. My 5 year old uses them by punching paper, my 2 year old goes straight to the scallop edge punch and flies it around the room like an airplane :)

Eastern Blooms Bookmarks

My mom came over tonight and we decided to get creative, she wanted a gift to give some teenagers and this bookmark seemed appropriate. We made a similar bookmark at convention this year. It is pretty simple, we colored the chipboard (scallop square) with Brilliant Blue Craft ink and put the pieces together. The Flower is stamped from the Eastern Blooms stamp set that is 15% off this month. I love the striped grosgrain ribbon!

Popsicle Card

I made this popsicle card for a demo swap. I used Not Quite Navy and the new Tangerine Tango. I first saw this from my friend Leela, thanks for the great idea!! You can find an awesome tutorial for this card here. Have fun creating!

Decor Elements

I love the Decor Elements from Stampin' Up! This is a picture Frame that I have on display in my house. I love the versatility, I can change the background DSP anytime. This is a chocolate 5x7 frame and it matches perfectly with the chocolate letters. The Letter J is on the outside of the glass. Here are four pictures using the exact same frame and I changed the paper inside the frame. I decided to only decorate it with the chocolate chip and white ribbon to make it super easy to change the paper but the ribbon is also very simple to remove and change. I can't decide which one is my favorite. Which one do you like the best?

Soccer

My oldest son had his first ever soccer game yesterday, he is playing on a Kindergarten team. He did great playing bunch ball and we are proud of him. I had to post this picture to show you how bright his uniforms are and the picture doesn't even do it justice. If you look at the color of their shirts in the shade under their arms you get a better idea it is the brightest neon green that I have ever seen. Now I know that whoever chose this color was definitely NOT thinking about scrapbook pages. Oh well I will just have to make most of the pictures black and white. (my son is the second from the left with the blonde hair and running). GO NUMBER 12!

Patriotic Scrapbook Page

I designed this page for my scrapbook club in May and wanted to post something patriotic after remembering September 11th. I have mixed emotions from my memories of that day. I was on my honeymoon so I have both happy and sad memories but I will be forever thankful for those who fight for our freedoms. Thank you!!!!

I also entered this page at the state fair. I took this picture myself so sorry for all the glare. I was pleased to win second place for this page. In the comments they mentioned that they wish I used some Printed paper, we stamped on the red paper with the red ink but it was really hard to see. My favorite part of the page is the chunky glitter. We used both tombow and sticky strip to adhere it to the page. The chipboard stars and rub-ons were fun too.

Spring Cards

I love these Spring Cards, I have seen a few but I had a hard time finding the template and it didn't look right when I tried to make my own :) I finally found the template for this card here. I love the cards that fold flat and pop up! I made this butterfly one first, it was a birthday card for my 3 year old neice. Now I have to admit that I am terrible at sending birthday cards and feel really bad about it especially because I get to make fun things like this for work. My Niece's birthday was in the middle of August and I still plan on sending it, I think she will like the sparkly butterflies. I used tombow to glue on the fine cosmo celery glitter on the top butterfly and the chunky white glitter on the left butterfly.
This next card is one that we made at club on Thursday with the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. If you look closely, we stamped make a wish on the bottom right corner, it is easier to see in person. The blue background was from the Summer Picnic DSP. The three of you who couldn't come to club (you know who you are) I will give you one of these cards with your order!

My 4 year old told me today that I should make the muffin card in red. I guess he doesn't know what cupcakes are :)

Notecard class

On Saturday I have a class at my home. We are making this note card holder and 4 notecards (and envelopes) that fit nicely inside. I figured I better hurry and post this for the ladies that are attending. I still have a couple of spots open if you would like to come. The class is $10.

I love the Bella Rose DSP (designer series paper). I have to admit that I am a Twilight fan so the name caught my interest first before I even saw the paper. I love how it uses 3 of the new In Colors Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Pink Pirouette (I had to pull out my catalog to spell that one :).

I used the new Wow Flowers Stamp set. Three of the images fit nicely inside the 1 1/4 inch circle punch so you can decide which one you would li
ke to use! We will also stamp the envelopes
to match. We are embossing the images and using some rhinestone brads to hold the note card carrying case together! and to add some sparkle to the front.

Edit: I forgot to mention where I saw this first. I found this on my incredibly talented friend's website here you have to check out Ashley's blog!

Flower Fusion Tote

I love the Flower Fusion flowers, they make the perfect accents. The catalog says that "they come in a fun tin" and I have to agree it was a lot of fun to decorate especially since we sell the amazing Crop-A-Dile that can punch through it! I really like how the embossed monogram (K for Kasia of course) matches the tin. You almost need to run your finger over it to decide if it is embossed or punched out of the bashful blue cardstock. I cut one of the flowers to make the leaves and I used the paper piercer to make the stems.

The tin I used is the one that the flowers come in. As you can see it is big enough to hold all five note cards even with the flowers as big as they are.

The orange paper I used is from the Summer Picnic DSP, I love that paper. I stamped the Rose Red paper with the flower from the Eastern Blooms stamp set. I thought it went nicely with the other flowers.

Enjoy!

Second Place!

I had a lot of fun making this scrapbook page for my stamp club. I used a stamp set that we were all given at convention, thank you SU! They also gave us the rub-ons that match, (see the rub-on under the word family?) My page looks a little different than the one my girls made, I gave my page to one of my girls who couldn't make it and made one for me later. I had more horizontal pictures so I just rotated almost everything on the right page. The stamp set I used was Eastern Blooms, this is 15% off this month! Contact me if you would like to order it. I used the new In Colors Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point.

I entered a few of my scrapbook pages in the Utah State Fair this month and I was awarded second place for this entry, (I didn't add enough journaling for first place). I was thrilled, there were so many entries.

Baby Shower

My sister Kristi is having a baby at the end of this month, we will finally have a girl on my side of the family! I was asked to make the invitations and I couldn't resist making her a bunch of thank you cards to match. I gave her the 3x3 congratulations card with her present (and then asked for it back so I could take a picture of it, I will give it back tomorrow I promise). Kristi chose the elephant stamp and I couldn't resist using the retired Wild Wasabi it is definitely my favorite In color of all time. I was sad to see it go and I was glad I had an excuse to use it. It was also fun to play with the new Inspired by Nature stamp set we received at convention this year. I also have to send out a thank you to Sasha and my Mom for helping me cut out the elephants!
